We strive to deliver the best, high quality,
effective hands-on electrical training for
the Metal Casting Industry
Furnace Training
Induction Furnace Training
Each Participant will:

Understand the major components of an Induction Furnace
Understand the GOC and GRM (Leak Detector) for an Induction Furnace
Measurements of Resistance, Voltage, & Current with Digital Multi-Meters
Understand there are two counter voltages in every coil device
Determine the reactive voltage in a AC coil
Measurements of Voltage and Phase Angle with a Digital Oscilloscope
Take measurements of Apparent Power, Real Power, & Power Factor with a Watt-Meter
Discover what Reactive Power is and why it is undesirable
Put together a miniature Isolation Transformer and an Induction Heating Loop
Induction Heat a part and feel the Magnetic Heating Field
Discover how Induction Heating is prevented in Iron Cores
Experience motor action without using a motor
Measure and understand what Power Factor is
Test and determine the AC resistance of a capacitor bank
Wire and experience what a tuned circuit is and how to correct for poor P.F.
Wire and determine the effect of capacitors on coil devices
Understand what 3-phase voltage is and why they do not add up as expected
Determine the phase angles of coils with the oscilloscope and why they occur
See on the Oscilloscope the P.F. effect on the Line Current
Wire and see why high voltages can be present in a LC Circuit
Wire and see the high voltage from a Current Transformer when Disconnected
Experience many other Circuit and Magnetic Concepts from many Demonstrations

The Induction Furnace Training
Class Objectives
This course is not How
to Operate a Furnace

In this Class
You will learn from hands-on exercises why a Furnace
works and what each
major component does
and how to test for Grounds,
test Capacitors, test SCRs,
and other devices.
